Clarke: So a little bit of make-up girls, and you're sure I can fall back on trolley-dollying if golf doesn't work out?

Nearly managed a cheeky each way with Kaymer last week, but that didn’t materialise so I was left with nothing. The European Tour rolls into Spain this week, so grab a bottle of Rioja, a plate of paella and put your pesetas on these lads…

Darren Clarke @ 25/1: got an emotional win under his belt last week in Shanghai and will no doubt be eager to put in another good performance and get himself back into the Ryder Cup frame. Let’s hope he can continue to ride on the crest of this wave and bag us some cash.

Jose Manuel Lara @ 28/1: the token homegrown talent pick for the week. Apart from being on home soil, however, Lara’s performed well and has finished strongly in 2008. Definitely worth a fiver.

Miles Tunnicliff @ 60/1: not much reasoning behind this pick, really. Has had a pretty solid year thus far, and a 4th place finish in Portugal (which is kind of similar to Spain) recently is promising. A complete hunch, mind you…

Last Week’s picks

The European Tour
Martin Kaymer (7th)
David Howell (missed cut)
Miguel Angel Jimenez (missed cut)
