It'd be ten minutes before his caddy realised Nick was waiting for a high-five...

Nick Dougherty kept his Ryder Cup hopes alive with an impressive finish to gain a share of the lead after the second round in the SAS Masters.

Dougherty birdied three of the last four holes to card a second successive 66 in difficult conditions, and leads alongside Peter Hanson of Sweden.

Despite lying in 15th in the Ryder Cup points table, Dougherty will be just outside an automatic spot should he win in Sweden, with two more counting tournaments still to play. The highest-ranked played in the field, Ryder Cup-bound Robert Karlsson, shot 72 to finish in a share of 69th.
