President Boo Weekley: 'Free hunting and fishing for all...'

Now I'm no North American political expert, but Barack Obama and John McCain had better watch their backs, because when Boo Weekley throws his hat into the Presidential candidacy race, the White House is as good as his. After all, Obama and McCain haven't got chants like 'Boo-S-A,' have they?

Okay, okay, Boo Weekley for President may have a nice ring to it, but if truth be told, there's more chance of Nick Faldo getting a hero's welcome when he arrives back at Heathrow.

Even though the golf witnessed at Valhalla was absolutely top-drawer, for me, the 2008 Ryder Cup was all about one man, and love him or hate him, Boo Weekley captured the heart of a nation like no other. If you hadn't already gathered, I bloomin' love the man.

While other players addressed the press like media-trained robots, Boo was out there spitting the truth in a manner that only he's capable of. Who cares if Lee Westwood was pissed off by his 'unacceptable' behaviour in getting the home supporters fired up? And what's wrong with riding your driver down the fairway like a horse, eh? Nobody complained when Happy Gilmore did it...

Boo understood the importance of making the crowd a 13th man, and the last time I checked, 'combatibating' is quite an important part of winning a Ryder Cup. It's just typical of Europe's press and golf contingent to look for someone to blame in defeat, but on this occasion, Boo Weekley ain't the man to blame. Nick Faldo is the man for that...

Boo is a simple man, who loves his hunting, fishing, beer and chewing tobacco. He likes his golf and happens to be flippin' good at it too, but in his own words, it's 'where I make my living at. If it was up to me, I'd much rather hunt and fish.' The game is in desperate need of more characters like Boo, and ain't nobody gunna argue with that, no sir...
