About This Section

From every tantrum that Colin Montgomerie throws a wobbly to every drive Paul Casey crushes and Martin Kaymer wears a pink shirt, if it ain't here, it probably hasn't happened on the European Tour.

Who's got the X Factor?

Anthony Kim to win the HSBC Champions OR the botox filled Dannii Minogue to be the winning X Factor winning manager @ 12/1. Minogue's got a few good acts left (not that we watch the X Factor), so she gets the nod...

We knew this would happen...

Just as we were getting all excited about the prospect of Lefty' plying his trade on the European Tour, he tells us that he's not ready to commit as of yet. He'll stay Stateside for the time being, but speaking about the perks of the European Tour, he said, 'I want to experience different cultures, I want my family to experience different cultures.' Yeah, that and the money...

Robert Karlsson: Happy as Larry, or should that be Harry Vardon?

Robert Karlsson is clearly very good at this golf malarkey, finishing tied 32nd at the Volvo Masters to become the first (and not the last) Swede to win the Order of Merit. They say a workman's nothing without his tools, however, so he'll be shouting tack så mycket as they say in Sweden, to Titleist and FootJoy.

Karlsson has used Titleist's sticks to deadly effect this year, including the 905R driver, 909F3 fairway metals, ZM irons, Vokey Design and Spin Milled wedges, Scotty Cameron GSS putter and the Pro V1x ball.

And, like most of the world's top players, Karlsson wears FootJoy Classics Dry Premiere on his feet and a FootJoy StaSof glove on his, well, hand...

Christy O'Connor Jnr: Statue at the front, golf legend at the back...

It was about time Ryder Cup legend Christy O'Connor Jnr built a golf course, and with the top notch O'Connor course at Oceânico's Amendoeira resort in Portugal's Algarve region, the waiting is finally over.

The course officially opened on October 1st and works a real treat alongside Amendoeira's existing Faldo course. Fair dos to Christy, who's managed to take advantage of the Algarve's beauty to create a corking track.

'The fifth, which has orange groves left and right and should be a real beauty to play. There is also a huge orange grove off to the left on the fourth hole,' he said. It's a good thing we love our oranges here at IGWT.

And it's a good thing we're all over our history as well, because the O'Connor course is littered with historical buildings. If you're looking to book sometime away next year, Oceânico's Amendoeira resort gets the IGWT thumbs up.

If this sounds like your cup of tea, or glass of freshly squeezed orange juice in this case, go to www.oceanicogolf.com for more info.

Darren Clarke: 'Alright, who let rip again? Howell, I'm looking at you...'

Those fine folk at the Oceânico Group are well ahead of the game when it comes to golf property in Portugal, and we're all over their brand spanking new Amendoeira Resort, which opened on Monday.

Located in the beautiful district of Silves, the Amendoeira features two amazing new 18-hole courses; the Oceânico Faldo and Oceânico O’Connor, both of which we're looking forward to testing out...

The likes of Darren Clarke, Rory McIlroy, David Howell and Charl Schwartzel were on hand to participate in an All Star shootout for charity, with the South African walking away victorious.

And let's face it, if Oceânico's courses are good enough for our pal Rors, then they're definitely good enough for you. For more information on Oceânico's golf resorts, go to www.oceanicogolf.com
