It was a great day for the Aussies, with Adam 'he's so hot right now' Scott posting an even par 70 to jump into tied fourth position. If he can play like that in the pouring rain, who knows what he'll do once things clears up...

Ross Fisher

Well on form at the moment, Wentworth-based Fisher carded a solid two-over 72 to put him slap bang in the middle of a massive group on tied 15th. Expect another good round of golf from Fisher to take him into the weekend.

Paul Waring

Local lad Waring is five off the pace after starting his campaign with an opening 74. This is the 22-year-old's second consecutive Open, and another good round should see him through to the weekend.

Ian Poulter

Great opening round for Poults who, despite shanking it early on, kept his head up and just got on with things the way only he's capable of doing. A two-over 72 sees Poulter tied for 15th, and you get the feeling that this year could be his...

Camilo Villegas

Not many players looked as cool as Villegas in the pouring rain today. The Colombian opened his Open account with a six-over 76, and we're just hoping that he can pull a decent second round out of the bag to make the cut.

Geoff Ogilvy

Under the circumstances, thing could have gone a lot worse for the 2006 US Open champ, who finds himself tied for 91st after an opening round of 77. Who knows, a good second round and Ogilvy could sneak into the weekend...
