The modern clubhouse according to John Daly...

We've learned a lot from golf this week, seven things in fact. That's one new fact for every day of the week....

1. Raymond Floyd is a shrewd businessman

Tour veteran Ray and his wife, Maria, have sold their two-bedroom, two bath condo in Palm Beach County, Florida to Yahoo! chairman Roy Bostock. The price? A cool $2.5 million. That's a lot of money, but the Floyds bought it for the same price last year, so it's not as though they've made any profit...

2. The IOC should just make their minds up

Look, if you're willing to hand out medals for handball, synchronised swimming, beach volleyball and 'sports' like of tug of war in the past, what's the beef with golf.

3. Golf's a BIG deal in the Giuliani household

Andrew Giuliani, son of former New York Mayor Rudy, is suing Duke University and his former coach for kicking him off the university's golf team. Giuliani was kciked off the team in February, and has decided to file a suit for being wrongfully suspended without warning. Let it go Giuliani...

4. John Daly knows how to design a good track

The Wild Thing is working on the redesign of a golf course in Missouri, which, at over 8,000 yards long, will be the world's longest golf course. Oh yeah, the course will sit next to a 70,000 square-foot gambling floor which boasts over 2,000 slot machines. Can't wait...

5. Golf courses are dangerous places (Part 8942)

Another boring alligator story? Not this time. Police in Greensburg, Pittsburgh are investigating a pipe bomb that exploded on the fifth green of Valley Green GC. The bomb created a hole 1 1/2 feet wide and about a foot deep. Bigger holes? Surely that can only be a good thing for us hackers?

6. Padraig Harrington is quite good at golf

The third best golfer in the world after his win at Royal birkdale last week, to be precise. Two Open Championships on the trot Porridge? Not bad, but you're swing will never be as sweet as Ian Poulter's...

7. Golf and crime don't mix (Part 367)

Honestly, if you're going to try and make a buck, go and rob a bank, not an adventure golf course. Two berks wearing balaclavas robbed a crazy golf course in Moonah, Tasmania, before fleeing to a car to make a quick getaway. What's worth stealing from an adventure golf course? Answers on a postcard...
