Three for the Masters from Arundel Mews: Kaymer, Dougherty and Sabbatini ...

Everyone's entitled to their opinions, and of course at IGWT's green-bedecked headquarters we've got ours in spades before this year's edition of the Masters blasts off in earnest. In our hearts of hearts we all think the Big Cat will win but this is our version of a 220-yard 3-wood over water ... The fearless picks from the creators of your favourite golf website on the planet:

Dan Crouch, publishing director:
I have got Ian Poulter at 150/1 each way for value, but I think Tiger will win. No rough course was made for him and lengthening it has only played into his hands. But I'd like Paul Casey to win as he tried to set me up with Suzann Pettersen in Valderrama once. Bloody nice bloke.

Sam Feasey, editorial staff:
I'm touting for Rory Sabbatini to win at 66/1. Any person sharing the same surname as Argentine tennis goddess Gabriela (give or take a 'b') and paints rottweilers white has enough game to combat the slippy greens at Augusta. I'd like Sergio Garcia to win so we can finally stop questioning his temperament and major-winning qualities.

Iestyn George, managing director:

I'm not picking Nick Dougherty because of his iron play, or his work around the fringe of the greens. It's because he's one of a rare breed - an articulate sportsman who isn't afraid of wearing his heart on his sleeve. Tipping him to win is crazy talk surely, but I'd love him to come in at 18/1 as top GB and Ireland player, or 15/1 to finish in the Top 10.

SG Matthews, golf editor:
Not a betting man but I still like Andrés Romero of Argentina at 100/1 each way. Who would I like to win? I think Germany's Martin Kaymer has a Green Jacket in his future, so why not now? Who deserves to win? As Clint Eastwood said in The Unforgiven, deservin's got nothing to do with it - and KJ Choi is worthy and possibly patient enough if Zach Johnson's win in 2007 is a new yardstick. But your winner is ... Tiger Woods.

Gavin Newsham, editorial director:

1) Geoff Ogilvy - He's got the wind in his sails at the moment, although he's not actually a sailor and the Masters is not a sailing competition. It's a golf tournament. 2) Andrés Romero - because he is the grandson of Cesar Romero who played The Joker in the original Batman series. That's got be a solid reason for backing him (even if it is something I just made up). 3) Mike Weir - been there and done that at the Masters. Knows his way round the course. The only thing that puts me off him is that irritating pre-shot wiggle he does.
