'I think I've found a crack in it'

Was it a good finish?: Ye cuid hae bund me wi a strae.
Does that mean a Scotsman won?: Oh yes. Marc Warren beat Simon Wakefield  in a playoff, birdieing the 18th the second time round for his second European Tour title.
And the first was?: The Scandinavian Masters in 2006, when he beat Robert Karlsson, in a playoff oddly enough.
What’s the story then?: Warren carded nine birdies and five bogeys in an action-packed final round 69 and had to hole a nasty eight foot putt for a birdie in regulation play to get into the play-off at 12-under, having dropped a shot at the 17th.
I read that Warren’s manager, Andrew ‘Chubby’ Chandler offered him the advise to raise nae mair deils nor ye can lig?
What was he on about?: Basically, he told him to play safe and take it from there.
Fat chance. Is Chubby Scottish then?: No, he’s from Bolton.
Any other wild-haired men with the Saltire tattooed on their faces figure in the final shake-up?: Steven O’Hara finished a creditable tied 7th at 9-under and Monty came tied 9th at 8-under. Our favourite Oli Fisher clambered up the leaderboard to from 30th to tied 9th after a 67, bettered only by Martin Erlandsson’s 66 to take him from tied 15th to tied 3rd.
Any other news to report?: Darren Clarke had a pop at the choice of The PGA Centenary Course at Gleneagles as the venue for the 2014 Ryder Cup. "There's only been one Ryder Cup in Scotland,” he said, “and then they choose a course like this one. There are even two better ones here at Gleneagles - it's beyond my comprehension."
What did Monty say?: As tournament chairman at this event he offered a diplomatic defence. “Nivver miscaw a Gordon i the raws o Strathbogie,” he countered.
Did he?: No, he said it was a “fantastic venue.”
