Nick Faldo: 'Cheers, Tiger...'

In doctor speak, this is the problem that Tiger faces with his knee: "Tiger will be forced to undergo reconstructive Anterior Cruciate Ligament surgery on his left knee. In addition to the knee surgery, Woods will require the time off to rehabilitate a double stress fracture of his left  tibia that was discovered last month. The stress fractures were attributed to his to Woods' intense rehabilitation and preperations for the US Open."

For us normal human beings, that means Tiger's out for the rest of the season. Always look on the bright side, though, Tiger...

What IGWT loves about Tiger being out for the rest of the season...

1. The Ryder Cup's in the bag for Europe.
2. There's more chance of a Brit winning the Open.
3. No more pathetic high five attempts between him and Steve Williams.
4. A lot less 'get in the hole' shouts from Yank galleries.
5. Better odds on other players.
6. He might come back with a new hairdo.
7. He's made Retief Goosen look like a proper idiot.

What IGWT hates about Tiger being out for the rest of the season...
1. It's Tiger.
2. A major without Tiger is like a World Cup without Brazil.
3. No more fist pumps.
4. What happens if he comes back and he's crap at golf?
5. What happens if he comes back and he's fat?

So, if it makes you feel any better Tiger, it's actually better for the rest of us that you're out. And if you never play golf again, always remember what Graeme McDowell said: "Tiger is the first person to win a major on one leg - he's the greatest of all time."
