OK. So what's going on at Cog Hill then?
Byrd and Baddeley share the lead after day two.

Byrd and Baddeley? That sounds like a bad detective show...
Nonetheless, Aaron Baddeley and Johnathan Byrd are tied at nine-under-par after rounds of 65 and 69 respectively. Tiger Woods shot a 67 to take him to minus eight with Justin Rose, Steve Stricker and Camilo Villegas.

Rose is still up there then, how did the other Brits do?
Ian Poulter is seven back at two under but will need to finish no worse than second to advance to next week's Tour Championship. Luke Donald is way off at four over.

And how about the IGWT tips?
Rory Sabbatini is eight shots off the lead, while Furyk is six shots off and Allenby ten shots.

Yep, we're definitely in Switzerland

So is Wilson still going strong?
Yeah, he's alright, it was all Steve Coogan's fault you know...

Oliver Wilson, not Owen Wilson
Oh. Oliver Wilson is taking a one shot lead over Bradley Dredge into the weekend's play.

Who else is doing well?
Australia's Brett Rumford is third, two shots back and England's Philip Archer is fourth, a further shot behind.

Anything else of note?
Alessandro Tadini shot a hole in one at the third hole and won a one kilo gold ingot and 16 year old Hawaiian Tadd Fujikawa made an albatross at the ninth, despite missing the cut.

A gold ingot? What would you even do with that?
Doorstop? Paper weight? Dunno. Either way, his hole in one was impressive.

Half price sale at Hennes? Woo! I'm there!

On this day, in 1996, Dottie Pepper won the Safeway LPGA Golf Championship with a 14-under par, two stroke victory over Chris Johnson.

Dottie Pepper was born in 1965 in New York and joined the LPGA Tour in 1988. She won 17 times on the Tour between 1989 and 2000, including two majors. Dottie competed in the Solheim Cup six times, memorably causing a furore in the 1998 event at Muirfield by whipping the crowd into a frenzy just as Marie Laure de Lorenzi was about to make a crucial chip. She retired in 2004 following injury problems.

Also on this day, in 1504, Michelangelo's David was unveiled in Florence. A masterpiece of Renissance sculpture, its greatest moment came in the early 1990's when it was the subject of an episode of The Simpsons.

Meanwhile, in 1888, the first ever football league matches were played. Confusion reigned as it was all black and white in them days and no one could tell who was on whose team.

And it's Daler Nazarov! As they say in Tajikstan, to; Pink themed singer...Pink (28), The Office's Martin 'Tim' Freeman (36) and evergreen Welsh footballer, Gary Speed (38). It would also have been Peter Seller's 82nd birthday today had he not died of a heart attack in 1980.

"and after this you can drink my vomit out of a pint-glass"

Frankly, I have no idea what's going on in this picture, if you do however, then make sure you visit our brand-new sister site, Scrum of The Earth, for all your egg chasing needs. Based on the same principles as IGWT, of strong editorial ideas and cheap laughs, it's easily just as much fun as having a twenty stone hooker up-end you in a muddy field.

Jonathan Byrd at the recent Khaki Shorts Classic

So who are the leaders then?
You remember in Question of Sport when they have that round where all the answers are related to a particular topic? Well the top three here all have garden related names...

Stuart Apple-by?
Not a bad guess – he's tied twelfth at three-under-par.

Umm Woody Austin? Tiger Woods?
Getting closer, they're both tied seventh at four under.

Adrian Hedges? Peter Flymo? Ben Gardenshed?
They aren't real people.

I give up.
Quitter. Jonathan Byrd is leading after a minus seven round of 64 and Justin Rose is one shot back. Oh and Camilo Villegas is also up there at minus six.

Camilo Villegas? That's not very gardeny
Its literal translation from Spanish is 'Camilo Birdhouse.'

Really?
Nah. I just ran with the garden thing before I realised Villegas had done so well.

I see, ever the professional. So what happened to the IGWT picks?
Sabbatini shot a two-under-par 69, Furyk a one-under-par 70 and Robert Allenby lived up to his 50/1 odds with a round of four-over-par.

I can't see hoe they're going to rake you in any money...
OK that's enough of the shrubbish puns
