DiMarco to Choi: 'Ants? ... I don't see any ants, man ...'

He might look tough on the outside and can powerlift much more than his own weight, but KJ Choi could be scared of ants, which are also very strong for their size. Yes, ants. ... Plus, SG Matthews looks at why Mexican food might not be good for Lorena Ochoa, the bike-wreck that is David Feherty, and a few other reasons why this week's spin through our wacky world of golf goes a bit sideways ...

Typical: You try to take a nice photo of Ernie Els and some idiot sticks a trophy in the way...

Unless either Brian Gay or Felipe Aguilar owes you money, the Puerto Rico Open and the Madeira Island Open are of slightly less importance than The WGC CA Championship at Doral in Florida.

Check out last week's European Tour picks by the way - thanks to workie Jack and his crystal ball we're writing this preview poolside in The Bahamas. In our minds. Forget an odds on Tiger unless he's eight shots back after two rounds when he might be worth a flutter.

Makes the rest of the field great value, mind, so go Ernie go!

Ernie Els @ 22/1: How could you resist the temptation at that price?
Henrik Stenson @ 33/1:
A regular performer at World Golf Championship events, who will be hoping to find his best form before The Masters.
Steve Stricker @ 40/1:
The most improved PGA Tour player of recent times - probably happy to play second fiddle to Tiger rather than go for it and blow up in the process.

Last week's picks:

Vijay Singh @ 22/1 (tied 3rd)
Luke Donald @ 22/1 (missed cut)
Vaughn Taylor @ 125/1 (tied 31st)

Johan Edfors @ 22/1 (tied 5th)
Graeme McDowell @ 30/1 (1st place!!!)
Zane Scotland @ 175/1 (tied 11th)

Designed to carry used notes and a bowling ball...

We're not shallow, honest. Sometimes we have a yearning to immerse ourselves in the rich history of the game - learn more about past exploits, heroes of the ages and all that good stuff. And sometimes we want to look at nice pictures of  stuff we like. Like Bunker Mentality's Weekend Bag - a  modern classic if you ask us. BM has been around long enough to know what works and this year's range of shirts, knits trousers, caps and accessories is itse best yet. If you don't believe us, check it out for yourself here.

Carolan (left) pulled the trigger early and found a caddie he liked ... while Lucquin is still searching ...

It's getting close to April and that means that caddies - regular or otherwise - are starting to feel the heat from underachieving bosses with itchy trigger fingers on the greens. SG Matthews has a look behind the European Tour curtain at a couple of the latest ... ermm ... personnel decisions players are making in this week's Stingers ...

Whew! Good thing golf is safe in Japan again, because we like our Shingo and Momoko ...

On this day in 1993, shocking news came from Japanese researchers who announced that hiking - and golf! - were two of the most dangerous outdoor activities leading to sudden sports-related deaths in the Land of the Rising Sun.

The "experts" caused a panic in golf-mad Japan until everyone read the fine print: Of 645 sports-related sudden deaths studied in the country, 147 were people over the age of 60, most of heart attacks or arterial disease. So perhaps, the theory was advanced, these croaking golfers were victims of heavy smokering, drinking or poor diets, rather than the "deadly" habit of golfing ...
