Don't ask us how, but we've managed to find enough time in our schedule to make a digital magazine on this week's Open Championship at Royal Birkdale. We made it for our good mates at RBS originally, but if you click HERE, you can have a look at it too. It's packed full with everything you need to know about all the best bits from the Championship's history and what's more... it's completely free.

If you needed another reminder, click HERE to have a look and get involved...

This is how shorts should be worn on a golf course....

We've learned a lot from golf this week... seven things, would you believe? We now know that greenkeeping staff have been cutting corners big time, being Welsh is rubbish, Kenny Perry's a pretty decent golfer and male golfers in Essex are being encouraged to wear shorts on the golf course... that can't be a good thing, surely?

4. Good weather.
5. No Tiger.

What We're Dreading

1. Gary Linker and Hazel Irvine pretending they know something about golf.
2. Paying six pounds for average sandwiches.
3. Players throwing tantrums.
4. Ken Brown's futile analysis.
5. No Tiger.

Al Watrous: Couldn't win The Open, but boy did he look the part...

Despite winning three times on The PGA Tour and the PGA Seniors Championship on three occasions, Bobby Jones' greatness denied the Polish-American a Claret Jug. Tied with Jones at Royal Lytham's 17th in 1926, Wartrous found himself on the green in two, with Bobby in the bunker after his tee shot. Wartrous three-putted, however, and Jones got up and down, doubling his lead on the 18th for a two-shot victory.

Bobby Jones: Who else could look this good with a centre parting?

Jones won his three Open Championships in 1926, '27 and '30 as an amateur... which is pretty damn good. His first Claret Jug came at Royal Lytham, and the fact that he won by playing perhaps the toughest five-hole finish in British golf in 19 strokes made it all the more impressive. He won at St Andrews the following year with an opening round of 68 and a series of gargantuan putts, and his final victory at Hoylake marked the second leg of his legendary Grand Slam year.
